Black & Gold

Follow @AshaIsabella on Instagram :)

So, I’ve been bitten with the black and gold bug. I just can’t stop it. Got a ton of amazing Spanish fabric last week for my next royal skirt and I absolutely love the detail. I’m having a 50′s themed birthday tea party on Sunday and it’ll be the perfect skirt for such an occasion. Can’t wait! I’ll take plenty of photos.

Apart from this skirt I also can’t stop wearing my black and gold studded blazer… by Asha Isabella US, of course.

Anyway…

I’ve decided to do a giveaway on The Boston Bazaar for one of the blazers so you have a million ways to enter.  I’ve also decided to do a crazy birthday sale on the Etsy shop. Everything will be 30% off all day Monday, starting at midnight.

Enter the giveaway fahhhrrr sure and totally check out the Etsy on Monday! Oh em gee… savings!

Going All American

Hey, What’s up… can you do me a solid and make sure you’re registered to vote by August 17th please and thanks.

I’m not going to sit here and tell you who to vote for… totally your decision and be glad you have the right to make it. So to celebrate that right make sure you’re set and ready to go… register.

Why am I bringing this up, you ask? Well, my dear lad and/or lass, I am rolling out an Isabella Louis All American collection this August and I’ve already starting leaking (and selling woops) previews.

Right now I’m super amped about the Olympics so I’m all TEAM USA and offering free shipping during the Olympics and some pretty rad prices… just saying.

But the purpose behind the All American collection is to really get people in the spirit, THE MOOD…and excited about voting. This election is going to be intense and everyone (that’s old enough) needs to pick a side… and not just the side of their parents, or friends, or clergymen (lol), but the one they believe in.

I’ve fallen in love with “Our Time” and I’m still working out the details but we’ll definitely be donating a portion of every All American sale to Our Time. Their efforts are inspiring.

So do it the American way – be heard…. and the Isabella Louis way – BE SEEN!

Teen Choice Awards – Flo Rida Isabella Louis Studded Vest

So, I’m currently stalking out the Teen Choice Awards because one of the stylists I know pulled a few things for Flo Rida.  Now that Flo has performed I can unglue my eyeballs from the TV screen. He’s wearing a studded and spiked (mini spikes) vest that I made on Wednesday. There were two pink patches on the front that I did not do but the vest looked great!

And Miss Stayc Reign looked adorbs.

Photos of Flo Rida’s Studded Vest and Sneakers From the Latin Awards

Between making a couple of hats for Stayc Reign (the featurette in ‘Wild Ones’) and running around doing business things I’ve been stalking the interweb for some photos of Flo Rida in my studded vest and sneakers. Here they are…

There Will Be Sleeping Enough in the Grave

WOW.

I am exhausted.

For the past two nights I have not slept at all. Falling asleep at 6, waking up at 5 on Wednesday then falling asleep at 9, waking up before noon today! Of course, creating sneakers and a vest for Flo Rida and a hat and vest for Stayc Reign definitely took up a lot of my time I’m also busy sewing samples and prepping for the pre-fall look book shoot.

I am pretty tired, but it doesn’t feel that way. I’m in hyper-drive. I’m literally bouncing around like a child after a pixie stick…

But here is the final image for the studded and spiked supra for Flo Rida. Figured you’d want to see it.

Now that’s a sneaker.

Falling in Love

Every time I make a new piece I genuinely fall in love and it’s so hard to let them go. This one shipped out to Covina, CA last week and I miss her already. I just made an addition to the standard studded vest that’s been making its way around the world. I added an inverted cross in leopard.  There is actually a leather cross underneath… the original plan was to have the cross outline with leather but it was just way too hard getting the studs through thick leather and denim. My fingers were not happy. She took 7 hours to make… if I don’t count the breaks I had to take because of my throbbing fingers but in the end I loved her!

So I had to say goodbye to number 1 but I will be making plenty more!

Having one of these vests really makes you apart of a club… a worldwide club and I love it!  I have to figure out an exact number but I think I’ll only make 25 more and stitched on the inside of each – leopard or standard – there will be a number. So join the club and order one.  You can shop on The Boston Bazaar, on Etsy… and on July 1st at our little pop up in Springfield, MA at the Eastfield Mall.

Check Emily out in hers!

Mid Afternoon Shooting with Michael Swartz

Took an hour…or two out of my afternoon to head over to Fenway (the area not Park) to take some photos with Michael Swartz in celebration of my purple hair. Here they are…

I tend to risk my life when shooting. Walked by this and decided that I HAD to stand on it in 5.5 inch heels…above cement. Falling would have caused some major damage, I was a little scared in this shot… whatevs

I’m not entirely comfortable in front of a camera. Definitely used to being behind it… directing. Twas a new strange experience but definitely had a blast.

And So She Ships

Every time I finish a piece I get this odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. It’s a mixture of pure joy, admiration, sadness….

Throughout the entire process I’m typically doubting myself. Picking it apart. Talking about everything I hate about it. It may even set me back a few days because I will walk away from it…hating it. I do each piece a little differently and sheer terror goes through my being thinking that my client may hate it just as much as I do at that moment.

But then I’ll realize I’m getting way too close (or past) my shipping deadline and I suck up the nonsense and just finish. And the moment I finish and pin it to my mannequin, Kali, I clench my teeth in joy and probably could cry.

I love it. I don’t understand where the doubt comes from…every. single. time.

Then I realize she is shipping out and I’ll never see her again. Unless my happy client overwhelms me with photos (I wish they would!) It’s like giving your puppy up for adoption and the new owner never sends photos. I want a photo every time you wear the damn thing!

I’m even offering giveaways or discounts for just sending me photos now.

It’s insane.

Here she is

She’s got a couple button options. Yay to the reversible button!!!

So there… Hopefully you understand the roller coaster of emotions.

She’s on Etsy!
